Kala Ayanna Parker

Born and raised in Oxford, Mississippi, I received my BA in English from Tuskegee University in May 2015. I am a writer and an editor with a specialized interest in non-profit organizations, visual communication, videography, and video editing. In the fall of 2015 I entered the MA in Professional Communication program at Clemson University where courses such as Visual Communication and Digital Rhetoric(s) Across Media developed my interest in videography, video editing, and visual communication.

I am currently employed by Clemson University as a Phonathon Caller and Graduate Teacher of Record, where I teach two courses of Accelerated Composition; I also work for Robert Anderson Middle school in Anderson, SC as an AVID tutor. As a candidate for graduation in May 2017, I will be seeking a job that will allow me to utilize my videography and video editing skills while incorporating what I have learned about visual communication.

When I am not working or studying, I enjoy watching television shows and movies and spending time with my Chihuahua, Cookie, and family and friends. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or are interested in finding out more about my experiences and skills.
